Southend Music Centre
Music on Sea’s long standing Rock School ensemble will take on a new shape as part of Southend Music Centre. This is an exciting, fresh opportunity for young learners in partnership with our lead secondary school, Southend High School for Boys. This new after-school initiative will offer a space for young musicians to grow, connect and create.
The change of venue will move Rock School back to a school setting in the heart of our City. Southend Music Centre will also offer one-to-one, small group, and ensemble sessions. Pupils will have the opportunity to join a rock and pop band with like-minded musicians or take lessons to further their skills on a brass or stringed instrument. This provision will complement and build upon the success of Southend Academy of Music, offering a progression pathway for learners who are developing confidence and skill in their playing. The dates for Southend Music Centre in the Autumn term 2026-2027 are as below.

Rock School runs from 16:30-18:30, whilst small group tuition is scheduled in 30-minute periods. Your time slot will be shared with you upon booking.
